Park City Restaurants: Where to Dine
Hitting the world-class slopes at Park City, Deer Valley and The Canyons ski resorts will no doubt be the main event on your next Utah holiday.
But there are plenty of adventures to be had après too – particularly where your taste buds are concerned.
Many of Park City proper’s most popular dining spots can be found in and around lively Main Street. If you’re a fan of Mediterranean fare, wrap your laughing gear around the dishes at Reef’s Restaurant. Or if you can’t resist a buffet, make sure you check out an institution amongst Park City restaurants, the Stein Eriksen Lodge.
Will only the heartiest of Park City restaurants hit the spot? Then point your skis towards High West Distillery & Saloon. We can never resist the whiskey cheese fondue, plus a double rye to dunk the bread in first. Be prepared to roll home in a lactose haze – you’ve been warned.
Happy to go a little further afield for the promise of top Park City restaurants nosh? If you love to try a little bit of everything, the #1 Zagat rated Mariposa in Deer Valley won’t steer you wrong with its beautifully constructed tasting menu.
For something really once-in-a-lifetime-y, book your seat at Park City Mountain Resort‘s Viking Yurt. Be sure to bring your appetite; this four-hour eating adventure – found at the other end of a sleigh ride up 1,000 feet – isn’t for the fainthearted.
Are you a committed carnivore? Then you should know that we’ve had reoccurring dreams about the fire-roasted leg of lamb found at Deer Valley’s Empire Canyon Lodge, in the upper mountain area. For the full winter experience try to book a fireside table, and consider a pre-dinner snowshoe trek to really work up a hunger.
Speaking of meat, in our humble opinion no trip to The Canyons Resort is complete if you don’t pop in to the legendary Western BBQ. After a hardcore day on the mountain, soak up the country-western band while the chef works his (or her!) magic on slow-cooked prime rib, BBQ ribs, chicken and a dessert buffet. But be sure to book to avoid disappointment; this hugely-popular BBQ is only held Saturdays and select Fridays.
