Park City’s Top 10 Breakfast Spots

Experts say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and who are we to argue?

As luck would have it, Park City is rich pickings when it comes to hearty brekkie fare. And to ensure you don’t find yourself face-to-face with a plate of icky eggs or a mug of ‘meh’ coffee, we’ve compiled a list of our personal faves…

1. The Eating Establishment. Whether you’re looking for a super-healthy start to your day or something a little more indulgent, the ‘double E’ can deliver. One of the oldest breakfast spots in Park City, the Eating Establishment is a local institution. Conveniently located on Main Street downtown, serving breakfast from 8AM to 4PM, the EE manages to be warm and cozy in the winter thanks to multiple fireplaces, yet open and airy come summertime. 2. The Bridge Café & Grill. Ski-in/ski-out breakfast, anyone? The Bridge Café & Grill serves up American food with a Brazilian twist all day from 8AM. Located at the base of the Town Lift on Main Street, The Bridge is home to one of the best dining patios in Park City. Location: 825 Main Street. Phone: 435-658-5454.

3. No Worries Café & Grill. The family owned and operated No Worries Café & Grill sits at the top of Parley’s Canyon between Park City and Salt Lake. Start the day right with a customised breakfast omelette; the No Worries Café & Grill begins serving at 7AM, while the lunch menu kicks in at 11.30AM. Feeling brave (and hungry)? Tackle former five-star hotel chef Dante Eggan’s Dante’s Inferno, topped with Cajun dust. Location: 185 Aspen Drive. Phone: 435-658-5007.

4. Table One. Part of Sky Lodge on Park City’s Main Street, Table One serves up breakfast from 7AM to 11AM daily. Relaxed and fun, Table One is a progressive restaurant where guests mingle along a 24-foot communal dining table. Reservations are commended.  Location: 201 Heber Avenue @ Main Street. 5. J&G Grill. Located at the St Regis Deer Crest, the J&G Grill is a Jean-Georges Vongerichten restaurant. Definitely one for when you’re feeling fancy come breakfast time, the J&G Grill was even awarded Best of State Utah 2014. Be sure to book to avoid disappointment. 6. Wasatch Bagel Cafe. Wasatch Bagel Café serves up no fewer than 18 types of bagels, plus a variety of breakfast sandwiches, smoothies, fresh juices and gourmet coffee. Open daily from 6.30AM, enjoy the bracing air in the outside eating area. A local favourite, fill your belly with great food without breaking the bank. 7. The Corner Store. While Park City’s The Corner Store Bar & Grill is best known for its awesome apres ski, its breakfast ain’t too shabby either. Served until 11AM, you’ll find everything from scrummy French toast with blueberries to customised scrambles and breakfast burritos. Who else is hungry just thinking about it? 8. Park City Bread and Bagel. The perfect brekkie spot should you wish to grab something quick on your way to the slopes. The family-friendly bakery/café operates at two convenient Park City spots: the Quarry Village Shopping Center and Kimball Village. The affordable establishment opens for breakfast from 6AM Monday to Friday, and from 7AM come the weekend. 9. Glitretind Restaurant. If you find yourself at Deer Valley Resort in the AM with a rumbling tummy, treat yourself to a fancy breakfast at the Glitretind Restaurant, located mid-mountain at the five-star Diamond Stein Erikson Lodge. Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus Sunday brunch, executive chef Zane Holmquist has developed a sophisticated menu focused on seasonal, local, and sustainable ingredients. 10. Silver Star Café. If you’re after something a little more brunch-ish, the Silver Star Café won’t let you down. Served from 9AM to 2PM, enjoy your fill of eggs benedict, huevos rancheros and more. Or, if you’re brave enough to try more American fare, order the biscuits and gravy with eggs. Errr, best of luck hurtling down the mountain with a belly full of that.
