Utah Breweries, Distilleries and Nightlife!
Utah is one of the world’s hottest skiing destinations – not bad for a state that’s covered in swathes of desert, eh?
In fact, it was once believed that Utah was too dry to support modern civilisation. This all changed when, in 1847, the first party of Mormon emigrants reached the Salt Lake Valley.
Led by a chap called Bingham Young, Utah’s first settlers inspired cultural sites that continue to win over visitors more than 150 years later. Few could dispute Young’s claim all those years ago: “This is the place.”
Due to Utah’s Mormon roots, misconceptions may arise when people float the idea of a Utah ski holiday. Here are some of our faves:
- You have to be a Mormon to enter the state
- You can’t drink in Utah
- The Mormon police are in force 24/7
