Snowbird Resort Utah is where it's at!

Utah’s Snowbird Resort was named the best overall resort in North America by OnTheSnow.com.

Snowbird Resort‘s enduring popularity comes down to one simple thing: snow. Five hundred inches of  ‘dry’ Utah snow annually, on average. And the longest ski season in the region.

Teamed with next door’s Alta resort you get 4,700 acres of skiable terrain, perfect for intermediate and expert skiers and boarders. Seriously, what’s not to love?

Snowbird Resort is home to four slopeside lodges. Destination Utah’s fave? The Cliff Lodge.

The ski in, ski out accommodation means you’re right in the thick of the action. That way you don’t have to worry about missing out on the face shots, fresh tracks and deep powder stashes due to canyon closures.

You’ll have the mountain and all that glorious fresh powder to yourself until Little Cottonwood Canyon is reopened. If you’re anything like us, by then you’ll be ready for your mid-morning coffee break/schnapps/gluhwein (or all of the above – we won’t judge.)

Soak up Cliff Lodge’s mountain or canyon views, three restaurants, two lounges, a rooftop heated pool, four hot tubs, ski rental and repair shop, day care and a concierge service. A personal equipment locker is assigned to your room, complete with boot dryers – wet feet be gone!

Brought the kiddies skiing? No problem. Both Camp Snowbird day care and the resort’s renowned Mountain School will keep young whipper-snappers entertained. Plus, kids 12 and under ski free when lodging at Snowbird. When they’re not tackling the chickadee run, they can take in movies, games, arts and crafts and naps in the state-licensed day care facility.

Treat yourself to some pampering after a long, hard day on the slopes – yes fellas, you too. The Cliff Spa, located on the 9th and 10th floors, has recently been given a facelift. Enjoy massages, facials, scrubs, pedicures, a yoga studio, full fitness centre, and male and female steam rooms.

Now let’s talk food and apres. Snowbird’s flagship restaurant, The Aerie Restaurant, Lounge and Sushi Bar, has also recently been remodelled. At the end of your day, head up to the 10th floor of the Cliff Lodge and take in the spectacular views of the resort, kick back by the window and sip hard on your Krak It- Aeries signature cocktail (Kraken black spiced rum, St. Germain elderflower liqueur, fresh lime, strawberry, lemon, orange and a cinnamon stick). Yes, it is a hard life at Snowbird.

The restaurant menu offers family-friendly Modern American Gastropub cuisine, whilst the Sushi Bar provides some of the freshest fish found in the state. Team this with the 950+ strong wine list and you’ll never have to look far for good times at Snowbird.

For breakfast, you can’t go past The Atrium, while the evening margaritas and daily food specials at El Chanate Cantina will soon take your mind off any bumps and bruises you acquired on your way down the mountain.

The facilities of Snowbird’s Cliff Lodge, teamed with the awesome terrain of Snowbird Resort, makes for the ideal Utah ski vacation.
